Retro Accessorizing the Faux Lace Dress (Outfit Of The Day)

It doesn’t take much to take a classic dress design/cut and time warp it back to the 1950’s!

This soft cotton faux lace dress is a perfect opportunity to make it a RETRO outfit.  Not only is the dress stretchy, soft and comfortable BUT it has enough flare in the skirt to make it FUN!  I really enjoy retro looks and being able to bring that style to work and still make it appropriate is quite a goal.

For this look I decided on a red skinny belt, by metal enamel necklace and earrings and what really pulled the look together were my retro shoes.  My hair is a natural curly frizz and decided to place one comb over one ear to tame it a bit.  I forgot to bring my favorite flowers for my hair, sadly!

I kept my makeup neutral on the eyes and emphasized them with a dramatic thick upward winged eye liner.  I can’t make myself wear anything but a rich red lipstick when I’m in this mood… don’t know why, but I LOVE it!

My Son and I scouted the area for a good background and found this beautiful home complete with the rocking chair and American flag.  The lighting was PERFECT as our poor little camera works best in a shaded environment.  It was just meant to be….

I had fun making my Son giggle with some comic poses and am sharing one which I call the “OH MY GOODNESS!” look that I hope makes you smile when you see it.

Measurements:   49 – 44 – 55                          Height:   5’0

This dress is currently not available on line for plus size.  I will update with link if It’s back in stock.
I’m wearing a Size 16W and it was a tiny bit loose on the neckline but fit perfectly on my beefy arms and think it’s a good fit as is.

I received mine from my Gwynnie Bee subscription.  Get YOUR FREE 30 DAY TRIAL at the following link!  ** Please let me know you joined as I’d LOVE to hear about YOUR experience:

Hello! I hope to have a photo shoot for this garment before and afters and comparing the looks with what I already normally wear – this weekend.
My Son (Age 12) is my normal photographer but for this garment review I will need an adult to do the specific shoot for this personal under garment as you can understand.
I can't wait to share the results with you.
