Pattern Mixing on the Casual (Outfit Of The Day)

Today I planned a casual look as I planned a long line at the DMV before I hurried over to work.  I combined a few of my favorite things:    Polka Dots, Stripes AND Spikes!

The skirt is a bit longer than I anticipated but worked perfectly with my casual look.  There was enough interest between the textures and patterns that had a couple of people stop me to ask info on them.  Now that is one of the best compliments!

MizLiz Pointer: Pssstt… I’m a SHORTY and ROUND…. I have a large collection of belts that are outfit savers as they help bring the look together.  With this outfit I have a pretty striped cardigan that is one size too small to work on it’s own on me…. BUT with the skinny belt it gives it a whole new look/purpose.

I go in visualizing a look then once I slide the pieces one they take on a whole new life.  It’s an adventure each time I have a new piece.  So don’t give up and feel free to contact me for ideas if you need them.

Measurements:    49 – 44 – 55                    Height:    5’0

My spiked out tennies are from a couple of years ago from NineWest and are not currently available.
The striped cardigan and red skinny belt are a “gently owned” find from last year as well.
The blouse is by Olivia Moon that is normally carried by Nordstroms but is no longer available on line.  If you see it you need to add this to your closet.  It is soooooooo SOFT and beautiful and a very flattering cut.  I’m wearing the 1XL and that fit me perfectly.  *I purchased mine from Gwynnie Bee recently

I’m wearing the Size 2 and as you can see it is quite roomy and has length.  I would go 1-2 sizes down for a fitted look and shorter length.  I actually liked this length combination and was the most comfortable work day ever!  Mwahahahaa!!!

This skirt by BB Dakota is currently available on line at:  Bloomingdales
I received mine from my Gwynnie Bee subscription.  Get YOUR FREE 30-Day Trial at the following link * Let them know BBWGeneration recommended you and let me know you joined!
