My FIRST Design from Pinup Girl: Deadly Dame Tropical Skirt
I can’t stress to you all enough on how important it is to SUBSCRIBE to your favorite lines and Blogs since I’m on the subject LOL! There are some unbelievable sales that happen where you get first dibs before the sale is released to the public. Well this baby right hurr is one of those sales. I was rubbing my eyes when I first opened my email early in the morning and POW there it was… the cyber yard sale with gorgeous pieces calling out my name.
Compliments came from out of nowhere while wearing this skirt. The pictures does it no justice on how beautiful, rich and vibrant this design is. The skirt is well made and no detail was spared during it’s construction. One of the most high end skirts I now proudly own. It’s a Hawaiian print with Orange blossoms that pop out of the majestic purple. The closest vibrant blouse I could find is this soft jersey coral shirt that I made work with this outfit.
There are folds galore on this easy to maintain material that doesn’t wrinkle! Yes, I worry about wrinkles since I still have a broken iron after my last fight with it – heheheee. I don’t like to iron as I worry of damaging the material and most of the pieces I don’t own, so doubly scurryy. I’m so glad I don’t have to touch an iron on this pretty skirt!
The day was very gloomy and most of my coloring/makeup washed out while adding light to my pictures – so excuse my under-stated face and hair. I was in one very stressful week at work and just needed a little pick me up and COLOR on a fun design always does the trick as it did here.
I felt like a gal from the 50’s/60’s with a little punk twist at my toes. The only accessory I remembered to grab was the over the top cuteness of hand bag from “Kate Spade” which my Daughter used for my Birthday celebration at the Opera a couple days earlier. Info on the purse is available on a previous post: <<<CLICK HERE>>>
Measurements: 48 – 43 – 54 Height: 5’0
I’m wearing size 4X on this design and well. The upper band was a little loose/gaping but I rather it fit comfy as the material has no stretch. I can wear a belt to cinch my waist a little more for added definition and fit. Sadly this skirt was at an incredible price and it did sell out within hours. BUT there is jaw dropping dress in the same material that is available in Size XL and 2X that I would swoon if it I could own it in a 4X. There’s also other breath taking skirts in a similar design to choose so don’t feel discouraged.
Visit their website and believe me when I say you WILL fall in love with them as hard as I did. I like to visit their site often to gain retro/vintage inspiration from not only their clothing but from the hair styles and makeup on the gorgeous ladies modeling their designs. Go look if you don’t believe me.
Do you love this look? I can’t wait to purchase a blouse from their line to use for this skirt and the other one I purchased in their sale.
How would you style this and where would you wear it to? I want to know!
