Monif C. “Nicole” Dress in Purple
As a petite plus size gal finding designs that will “fall” on the correct spots of the body is at times a little difficult to do. Add an extra beefy upper arm – like I have – and have to go with what fits the arms more so than the torso. DO NOT FRET my friends!
It is a normal expectation that some alterations are needed once in a while. It’s best to invest in quality pieces in designs you will love to wear regularly or as classics that you will own for years to come. Alterations can be inexpensive if you find a local seamstress or develop your own sewing skills. This dress is most definitely worth it! It’s fully lined, rich and comfortable to wear. The shoulder details are beautiful and can be worn in a professional setting or a night out on the town. I’m ALL about that!
I am short torso and the design is a little long on me. It still looked good but not as it is intended to look – or does look on the gorgeous Tess on the site. I will have this altered to fit higher on the waist and shorter on the length as well as shorten the sleeves. I will do a follow up shoot once its ready.
Measurements: 48 – 44 – 53 Height: 5’0
I’m wearing size 2 (18/20) but if you have a smaller bicep than I do, I suggest to go one size down as it is giving on the hips and waist. Due to an injury my left bicep is larger than my right and measures 21 inches.

I kept my look casual with my flats as I rushed to work after this shoot. Pump up the look with some accessories and a high heel. Add an up-do and it will look divine!
What do you think? Do you like it? Would you wear it? What would to wear with it and where?
