Back To School and Friendships Made Easy

The biggest worry for my kiddos this year was making new friends at a new school.  I have to confess that I worried too!  I kept my cool and reassured them that they are awesome and will have a few old friends and new ones in no time.
As the days went by I asked my kiddos to make sure they talk to new students and introduce themselves to any that they see alone.  I reminded the children how they themselves felt when they knew no one and  how having a child do this for them made a world of difference to this very hard transition.
It’s been two weeks since school started and decided on a Pizza Party to help connect my children with friends – old and new.  It was one of the simplest yet impacting event we’ve done!

First: Cell Phone Numbers

First, I had my children collect the cell numbers both the children and their parent’s that they’d like to invite.  This took a few days for them to gather as there’s very little time between class to do so. Once I had their completed list I could set a date.

Second: Digital Invitation

I made this quick and easy invite with the information and sent it to the children and the parents.  You are more than welcome to print my invite and fill it in by hand or by computer.  If you do so by hand, you can scan or take a pic of it and send it via text/email.

Third: Pizza Planning

I work full time and had to find a Fast, Convenient and Budget friendly way to gather all I need.  I called my local Sam’s Club and placed an order for their “Family Pizza Combo” for only $13.98!  This is the ULTIMATE Pizza Party on a Budget!

The combo comes with:

  • Huge 16″ pizza
  • Cheesy Sticks with Marinara
  • Delicious Chocolate Chunk Cookies
  • 2-liter Bottle of Coca Cola

Four: This Is It!

I headed to Sam’s Club after work and was in and out in a jiff with enough time to get everything to the park by the children’s school and meet the Parents that arrived to meet their children.  It was a double WIN as I myself also got to meet a new Parents.
The Parents and I sat at another table as we watched our children talk and laugh with each other.  The Pizza Party was a complete success.  Another Parent commented she wanted to do another Sams Club Pizza Party soon for us to meet again.  Now that is a great start to a new school year!
See how easy it is to plan a little party?  What will you plan with this affordable combo?
