Needing a need of color and cultura, I decided to create a fashion statement on a day filled with concerts at our local East L.A. park. I grabbed the largest flowers for my hair and came up against the wall when deciding on a blouse. Money is very tight as I save money for my cancer tests and upcoming surgery… I think hard on a bright blouse that will go with my “Dia de los Muertos” skirt and as I scan my room I spot my Hot Pink revoso (Mexican wrap/shawl) and it was the perfect length to convert in to a top. Yay!
It took one try to achieve the twist knot halter look and LOVED the finish product. I paired my skull candy skirt with my matching Hot Pink platforms to complete the look. We hiked up a “nopalera” (cactus hill) overlooking a portion of East L.A. neighborhood and played with the evening sun and shadows. I’m happy to report that we (my children and I) didn’t pick up any splinters while there.
The skirt has no stretch with a full side zipper. I ordered mine a size bigger as I like to wear my skirts high waisted and at knee length. Having this skirt high waisted with my halter top is key in keeping my mid-section at one length and helps keep my muffin’ top in check as the material covers well over than area. There’s enough skin showing between my top and the waist of the skirt that it fools the eye in making my torso look longer.
Measurements: 47 – 42 – 53 Height: 5’0
I’m wearing Size 3X but for a more fitted look I recommend the 2X for similar measurements. This skirt is available on line in Size 6 to 24 at: Annafesta “Day of the Dead” Skirt
I received my skirt through my Gwynnie Bee Subscription. Try YOUR FREE 30-Day Trial using my referral code *Tell them MizLiz BBWGeneration sent ya’ and let me know you joined!
