Carmakoma “Sister Dress” (Gwynnie Bee Exclusive)
As human beings we have moods and I see this as a gift! Fashion allows us to express what we’re feeling with the garments we wear OR change our mood completely closer to what we want to feel. As a fashionista/fatshionista I like to do what makes me feel happy.
Today I chose: Dark and Mysterious with a contemporary edge!
I don’t wear shift dresses often enough. When I saw this new dress design added to our Gwynnie Bee choices I added it to my cyber closet. I like trying out new things and can’t go wrong experimenting on style with my subscription. The sleeves are in a loose fishnet design with faux leather paneling on the sides of your torso. It’s hard to see in my pictures as all the materials are in black but hope you can see some of the detail. The hi-low cut is very subtle and was a great detail.
“Carmakoma” is a Danish Plus Size Designer line. Take a visit to their site and you will find edgy plus size clothes that are sophisticated and fashionable. They first released their line in 2008 and have been making waves in the Plus Size world. I’ve been eyeing them for a while and am beyond excited to have their line be a part of the Gwynnie Bee collection. I’m just spoiled rotten now as a subscriber and being able to rent my clothes makes me VERY happy. Most especially having the chance to wear lines that will normally be out of my financial reach at the moment.
I grabbed this dress in a size “Medium” and my Latina hips were too wide for the bottom portion of the dress. I sent it back and was able to receive it in a Size “Large.” It fit my petite frame a tad bit looser than I anticipated and decided on a belted look. I did this shoot with and without a belt and BOTH looks are flattering. I was comfortable and felt on point with the fashion trends going on now.
I wore my Eloquii belt in a neutral tan that I found on Ebay a couple of years back. Whenever I think of “edgy” I reach for my studs/spikes and had the perfect hoops and necklace that fits perfectly to my classic punk style. Makeup is in neutral tones and popped my eyes with a vibrant teal from my “Electric” pallet from “Urban Decay.” Eyeliner is optional and went for a no-liner look today and LOVE how it all pulled together.
You can change the look by changing the accessories. Add leggings or jeans under this dress for a cooler weather look. This design is easy to dress up with my favorite platform heels or boots/booties. Your creativity can really be let loose here.
Measurements: 47 – 42 – 53 Height: 5’0
I’m Wearing Size “Large” which translates to a U.S. size 20/22 due to my hip width. The size 18 fit me on top but was too tight for my bottom. My measurements should be a good rule to measure and figure out your own perfect size. It’s a “loose” fitting look and suggest going 1 size up.
Sadly this dress is not available on the “Carmakoma” site and was only able to find it available to Gwynnie Bee members… BUT there are similar dresses in “Carmakoma’s” website:

I’m here to help answer any questions and you’ll also find that 90%+ of my “Outfit Of The Day” posts are from my Gwynnie Bee items. You’ll be able to find the fit information and review on my blog to help.
