|MizLiz BBWGeneration at “The Warner Grand” for “Marilyn Forver”
Cinderella Turns 41 and arrives at the Ball: ALL Eyes On Her!
(Original Post March 2015)
Yes, this is my 41st Birthday weekend celebration and celebrated with my children at the OPERA! It was the U.S. Debut of “Marilyn Forever” and I wanted to dress in theme. Sadly, my Marilyn wig didn’t work out but was told my hair was perfect for this gown.
Getting this gorgeous full gold sequined gown was quite an adventure. “Rent The Runway” opened up a subscription for their gown rentals and I jumped on it the moment I read their email! For an incredible monthly fee I will receive 3 items from their stock of gorgeous designer gowns, purse and accessories. My first delivery was quickly sent back for an exchange on sizing. Thankfully I received this gown in my Que just in time for this event.
This service fits right in to events I need a more formal wear on a budget. This is “Rent The Runway’s” first month of rolling this service out to a select few subscribers and will follow up in my experience with the service after another month or two, as it’s too soon to share. So far, I’m very happy with how it has all worked out.
“Puts On The Glitz” Gown by Badgley Mischka
Wow, right! It oozes Hollywood and Glam and ready to walk down any red carpet. It’s fully lined in a comfortable cotton stretch material and the pleated skirt was a great silhouette to my curves. There is a full back zipper as the design is fitted with no stretch for the bodice/upper body portion of the dress. This is the reason why I sized up for the extra room and the pleated bodice helped in hiding the extra material as that was too big for my upper body. It looked gorgeous regardless.
I’m petite and the length was a few inches too long. I couldn’t find my walking platform 5″ heels and settled for my 3″ heels. It was enough heel height for this gown yet the design looked as if it was meant to pool around us. While walking I held the hem in one hand and made it work.
Tailoring is not an option for these gowns as they are not ours to keep unless you decide to purchase it from the service. Keep this in mind when planning for an event and are looking to wear long gowns. So far so good, and this looked gorgeous on me.
Measurements & Fit
Measurements: 48 – 44 – 54 Height: 5’0
I normally wear a size 18W but it was too tight around the waist. I am wearing size 20WR(Regular).
This gown is available in Size: 16W – 20W (Regular and Long)
Do You Love It?
I have never worn a full length sequined gown and decided on keeping the look “simple.” The only accessories I wore were chandelier earrings to help bring the sparkle to my face. In the following pictures I showed how this dress looked on me in the daylight as well as night time. I played around with my hair and wore it in a faux curly bob and loose waves.Makeup: Since the dress was glitzy I did a neautral pallet with gold to accent my eyelids and my favorite “Pink Stiletto Cosmetics” brought out the pearl glow to my upper cheek and chin. Here’s a Raw pic that my Son snatched while I was reading something. Excuse my Daugther’s hand, Ha!
How would you have styled this dress? Which look do you prefer: the up-do or loose waves? Where would you wear this dress to?
Yes! I want to know. Your thoughts inspire me photo/style adventures you know so do tell.
