Looking For Essential Statement Pieces?
With cooler weather finally arriving to Southern California my wardrobe that is filled with sleeveless dresses needed to vamp up a bit for added warmth. I searched for a capelet that will allow me for movement through my busy day yet add a strong sense of style at the same time.
In my Facebook Friends list I saw a post of a beautiful blouse and skirt set in a modern scale design. I knew it would be perfect as a capelet and immediately sent him a message. He responded with “Yup we can do one!”
I was very excited to have it arrived and as a custom piece I knew I would have to wait a little for it to get to me. Once it did I was in LOVE! It was perfect in every way and exactly what I dreamed it to be. Heavy enough to award me warmth yet roomy and free to move around file boxes and work comfortably.
The design is breath taking. People took 2nd looks and received compliments the whole time I wore it. My children deemed it “Hunger Games” worthy. Ha!
I styled this beauty over the sleeveless Snake Printed Scuba Dress by “Karen Kane.” To break up the snake design I added a black and white checkered belt that help accent the smaller section of my waist. The mixing of prints and texture helped keep it interesting and fun as the eyes traveled down the body. I sneaked in a thin gold spiked bracelet and long 5″ chain earrings to finish my look.
I can’t wait to see what other pieces I will style with this capelet!
